During the meeting, Dr.T.B. Boyd, III, President/CEO of R.H. Boyd Publishing gave observations and commendations to the work of the NMBCA. Dr. Boyd presented checks to each board and auxiliary to encourage them in the work and announced new innovations of the work of RHBP as well as preparations for the 102nd Annual Congress in Dallas, TX, June 2008.

Damian Epps (San Francisco, CA), and other outstanding ministers.

President C.C. Robertson called the convention to order by saying "we have come here to do the work of the Lord" and released the auxiliaries for their first formal opening sessions. During this session President Robertson celebrated his 82nd Birthday. The President's Hour was returned to Thursday morning as President Robertson said, "I want to talk to our pastors" and preached a very dynamic first annual address in which he revealed some of his plans for the convention and capped the evening off by singing "Beams of Heaven" as the congregation stood throughout the building. Prior to his address, Dr. A. Charles Bowie continued in a tradition established over 30 years ago by his singing before the President's address. Dr. Bowie brought tears to the eye as he sung "Rock of Ages."

Late Night Services were held under the direction of the Evangelical Board, Dr. S.H. Smith, Sr., Chairman and featured four of his preaching sons including Terrence Johnson and Christopher Hartwell.
